Iconic Dogs of London: The Story Behind the Project
The idea for Iconic Dogs of London existed long before I knew exactly what it would become. I had always wanted to photograph groups of dogs within a single frame. I love the movement that happens when several dogs are together, the different postures, expressions and personalities all appearing at once. One looking directly at me, another distracted by something happening further down the street, somebody sitting beautifully while somebody else has entirely different ideas.

Why a Photograph Deserves to Be Seen as Art
Not every photograph earns a place on a wall, and that is precisely the point. When you choose an image to print, you are making a judgement. You are saying this moment, out of thousands, deserves permanence.

A Thank You, In Photographs
I did not start this project to make photographs. I started it to say thank you. Every day, in every city in the world, dogs go about their lives without any particular awareness of what they give us. They move through the streets of London — along The Mall, across Trafalgar Square, past the Bank of England and the Churchill War Rooms and the flower-draped doorways of Mayfair — and they do what they have always done.
