Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 13 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made from Andrew Raven Richardson trading as Andrew Raven, referred to throughout as “Andrew Raven”, “I”, “me” or “my”.

My correspondence address is:

Andrew Raven
45 Fitzroy Street
Fitzrovia
London W1T 6EB
United Kingdom

Email: andrew@andrewraven.com

These Terms apply to purchases made through andrewraven.com and should be read alongside the Delivery & Returns Policy and Privacy Policy.

Nothing in these Terms affects rights that a consumer has under applicable law.

1. About the Collection

Andrew Raven creates and sells limited edition fine art photographic prints, including works from the Iconic Dogs of London collection.

The individual product page describes the artwork, available sizes, edition size, paper, presentation and price.

Unless a product page expressly states otherwise, artwork is supplied as an unframed fine art print.

Photography displayed on screens can vary slightly in colour, brightness and contrast from the finished physical print. These differences are an ordinary consequence of different screens, lighting and print media.

2. Limited Editions

Each limited edition is issued according to the edition information displayed for that particular artwork and size.

Edition sizes are separate by print size. This means, for example, that an A2 edition and an A1 edition of the same image are distinct editions.

Every limited edition print is individually inspected, signed and numbered before leaving the studio.

Once the numbered edition for a particular artwork and size has been completed, no additional numbered prints will be issued within that edition.

Edition numbers are allocated and recorded by Andrew Raven. Unless specifically agreed in advance, purchasing a print does not entitle the collector to request a particular edition number.

Where artwork is sold as a set, the edition information relating to each constituent work remains as described on the relevant product page.

3. Certificate of Authenticity

Each limited edition fine art print is supplied with a corresponding Certificate of Authenticity.

The Certificate forms an important part of the provenance of the artwork and should be kept safely with the print.

The Certificate may record information including the artwork title, edition number, print size, medium, paper stock, year of printing, signature and date.

If ownership of the artwork is later transferred or the print is sold, I strongly recommend that the Certificate of Authenticity remains with the artwork.

4. Placing an Order

By placing an order through the website, you are offering to purchase the selected artwork subject to these Terms.

You must provide accurate contact, billing and delivery information.

After an order is placed, you will normally receive an electronic order confirmation.

A contract is formed when your order has been accepted and payment has been successfully authorised.

If I am unable to accept an order, I will contact you and any amount already paid for that order will be refunded.

Reasons an order may exceptionally be declined can include:

  • the edition having sold out;

  • an obvious error in the product description or price;

  • payment not being authorised;

  • inability to deliver to the requested destination;

  • reasonable concerns about fraud or unauthorised payment.

5. Age and Authority to Purchase

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order yourself.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to place the order on its behalf.

6. Prices and Payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.

The price payable is the price displayed when you place your order, together with any delivery charge shown during checkout.

Prices include any UK taxes that I am legally required to include unless the website expressly states otherwise.

International orders may be subject to local import duties, taxes, customs charges or carrier handling fees. These are discussed further below.

Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.

I do not ordinarily receive or retain your complete payment card details. Payments are processed through the payment services made available through the website.

7. Availability and Edition Sell Out

Limited edition artwork is inherently finite.

Occasionally, particularly where orders are placed close together, an edition may become unavailable before website stock information has updated.

If this happens and I cannot fulfil your order, I will contact you promptly and issue a full refund.

I will not substitute another artwork, size, paper or edition without your agreement.

8. Production and Preparation

Each print is prepared individually and inspected before dispatch.

The current normal preparation period is up to five working days before dispatch unless a product page, order confirmation or other communication states otherwise.

This is a preparation period rather than a guaranteed delivery date.

During particularly busy periods, new releases or circumstances outside my reasonable control, preparation may occasionally take longer. If a material delay occurs, I will let you know.

9. Materials

The paper stock and print medium supplied will be those described on the relevant product page.

Because specific fine art materials can occasionally become unavailable or be discontinued, if it ever becomes necessary to change a material stated in your order, I will contact you before doing so.

I will not replace a stated fine art paper with a different stock without your agreement.

Any statements concerning archival qualities or longevity assume appropriate handling, framing, display and environmental conditions.

10. Delivery

Artwork is available for delivery within the United Kingdom and to international destinations made available at checkout.

Orders are normally sent using a tracked service and are insured while in transit.

Available delivery methods and charges are shown during checkout where applicable.

Once your artwork has been dispatched, you will normally receive confirmation and tracking information.

Delivery estimates are estimates unless a particular delivery date has expressly been agreed.

Please ensure that somebody is able to receive the parcel where necessary.

11. Risk During Delivery

For consumer orders, the artwork remains at Andrew Raven's risk until it comes into your physical possession, or into the physical possession of another person you have identified to receive it.

This does not apply where you independently arrange your own carrier rather than using one of the delivery options offered by Andrew Raven, to the extent provided by applicable law.

If a parcel is lost or materially damaged before it reaches you, please contact me rather than attempting to resolve the claim directly with the courier.

12. Delivery Information Supplied by You

Please check the delivery address carefully before submitting an order.

If you notice an error, contact andrew@andrewraven.com as quickly as possible.

I cannot guarantee that an address can be amended once an order has entered the dispatch process.

Where a parcel is returned because an incorrect or incomplete address was supplied, reasonable redelivery costs may be payable before the artwork is sent again.

13. International Orders, Customs and Import Charges

International collectors are responsible for checking any import requirements that apply in their country.

Unless the checkout expressly states that duties and taxes have been prepaid, an international order may be subject to customs duty, import tax, VAT, brokerage charges or other fees imposed by the destination country or carrier.

These charges are outside Andrew Raven's control and are not included in the artwork price unless expressly stated.

Customs procedures can also cause delays that are outside my reasonable control.

If an international parcel is returned because applicable import charges were not paid or delivery was refused, I will contact you. Any refund or redelivery will be handled in accordance with applicable law and may take account of costs that can lawfully be recovered.

14. Your Right to Cancel an Online Order

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you will ordinarily have the right to change your mind about a standard artwork purchased online.

You may notify me that you wish to cancel from the time the order is placed until 14 days after the day on which you receive the artwork.

You do not need to give a reason.

To cancel, send a clear statement to:

andrew@andrewraven.com

Please include your name and order number where possible.

You may also use the optional cancellation form at the end of these Terms.

15. Returning an Artwork After Cancellation

After telling me that you wish to cancel, you must return the artwork without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying me of the cancellation.

Please contact me before sending the artwork so that I can provide the correct return instructions and return address.

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning an unwanted artwork following a change of mind, unless I agree otherwise.

Because the artwork may be valuable, I strongly recommend using an appropriately tracked and insured service.

Please return:

  • the artwork;

  • its Certificate of Authenticity;

  • any other item forming part of the purchased artwork.

Where reasonably possible, please reuse the protective packaging in which the artwork arrived.

The use of the original packaging is strongly encouraged to protect the print, although it is not a condition that removes any statutory cancellation right.

16. Handling Returned Artwork

You may inspect an artwork to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature and characteristics, in much the same way as you could inspect an item in a physical shop.

You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the artwork while it is in your possession.

If handling beyond what is reasonably necessary causes a reduction in value, I may make an appropriate deduction from the refund to the extent permitted by law.

Because the Certificate of Authenticity forms part of the provenance and value of a limited edition artwork, it should be returned with the print.

If a Certificate or another material part of the purchase is not returned, any resulting reduction in value may be taken into account to the extent permitted by law.

17. Refunds Following a Change of Mind

Where you validly cancel a consumer order, I will refund:

  • the price paid for the returned artwork; and

  • the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered for the original order, where a delivery charge was paid.

If you selected a more expensive delivery method, the additional cost above the standard delivery option does not have to be refunded.

I may withhold the refund until I have received the artwork back or you provide evidence that it has been returned, whichever occurs first.

The refund will normally be made within 14 days of that point using the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.

18. Bespoke and Personalised Artwork

The ordinary change of mind cancellation right may not apply to goods that are genuinely made to your specification or clearly personalised.

This may include, for example:

  • specially commissioned artwork;

  • a custom size not ordinarily offered in the collection;

  • artwork containing a personal inscription requested by you;

  • another genuinely bespoke product made specifically to your instructions.

Choosing one of the standard artwork and size combinations normally offered through the Andrew Raven store does not, by itself, cause me to treat the purchase as personalised.

Where a proposed bespoke order will not carry the ordinary change of mind cancellation right, I will make that clear before the order is placed.

Your rights where bespoke goods are faulty, damaged or not as described remain unaffected.

19. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Artwork

Every artwork is inspected and carefully packed before dispatch.

If your artwork arrives damaged, is faulty, is materially different from what you ordered, or you receive the wrong item, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible at:

andrew@andrewraven.com

Where possible, please include:

  • your order number;

  • photographs of the artwork;

  • photographs of the packaging;

  • a short description of the problem.

Reporting transit damage within seven days is extremely helpful for courier and insurance purposes, although this request does not limit your statutory rights.

Please retain the packaging while the issue is being investigated where reasonably possible.

Where the law entitles you to a repair, replacement, refund or another remedy, those rights remain fully available.

Reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods will be borne by Andrew Raven where required.

20. Replacement of a Damaged Limited Edition

If a damaged limited edition print is replaced, the replacement does not increase the stated size of the edition.

Where appropriate, a replacement may be issued using the same edition number after the damaged copy has been returned, permanently withdrawn or otherwise invalidated.

Any corresponding Certificate of Authenticity that is replaced will also be invalidated.

This preserves the integrity of the numbered edition.

21. Ownership and Copyright

Purchasing an artwork gives you ownership of the physical print once the purchase has been completed.

It does not transfer copyright or intellectual property rights in the image.

Copyright and all intellectual property rights in Andrew Raven's photographic work remain with Andrew Richardson trading as Andrew Raven unless expressly assigned in writing.

You may display and enjoy the physical artwork privately and may later sell or gift the genuine physical print.

You may not, without prior written permission:

  • reproduce or copy the artwork;

  • create or sell reproductions;

  • use the image on merchandise;

  • use the image for commercial advertising or branding;

  • commercially license the image;

  • scan or reproduce it at high resolution;

  • create digital assets or tokens derived from it;

  • use the artwork as source material for training generative artificial intelligence systems.

A reasonable photograph of the physical artwork may be used solely for the genuine private resale of that particular physical print.

22. Resale and Provenance

Collectors are free to sell or transfer ownership of a genuine physical print.

Where possible, the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity should pass to the new owner with the artwork.

Andrew Raven does not guarantee the future resale value, investment performance or secondary market value of any artwork.

Any statutory artist resale rights or other rights arising under applicable law remain unaffected.

23. Care of Fine Art Prints

Fine art paper should be handled carefully.

For long term preservation, prints should ideally be framed using appropriate archival materials and displayed away from excessive moisture, heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

Andrew Raven cannot be responsible for deterioration or damage caused after delivery by inappropriate storage, framing, handling, cleaning, environmental conditions or accidental damage.

This does not affect your rights in relation to a fault that existed when the artwork was supplied.

24. Trade and Stockist Orders

Purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes, including trade, wholesale and stockist orders, are business purchases rather than consumer purchases.

Consumer cancellation rights described in these Terms do not apply to a Business Client.

Trade orders may also be subject to separate quotations, minimum quantities, payment terms, delivery arrangements and written trade conditions.

Where separate trade terms have been agreed, those terms take precedence to the extent of any inconsistency.

25. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

If you are a consumer, Andrew Raven is responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of breaching the contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.

Andrew Raven is not responsible for business losses arising from an order placed by a consumer for private purposes.

For Business Clients, and to the extent permitted by law, Andrew Raven will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of opportunity.

26. Events Outside Reasonable Control

I am not responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances genuinely outside my reasonable control.

These may include severe weather, transport disruption, customs delays, industrial action, fire, flood, serious illness, government restrictions, interruption of essential services or major courier disruption.

If an event materially affects your order, I will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed and to minimise the effect of the delay.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

27. Complaints

If anything about your order has not met the standard you expected, please contact me first so that I have an opportunity to put it right.

Email:

andrew@andrewraven.com

I will consider complaints fairly and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Nothing in this section limits any right you have to pursue another remedy available under law.

28. Privacy

Personal information relating to orders, enquiries and use of the website is handled in accordance with the Andrew Raven Privacy Policy.

29. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time.

The Terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in effect when your order was placed, together with any later variation expressly agreed between us.

30. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply so far as legally possible.

31. Governing Law

These Terms and contracts made through the Andrew Raven website are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you under the law of your country of residence.

Nothing in this clause removes a consumer's right to bring proceedings in a court where applicable consumer law allows them to do so.
